Bored Teachers Community

The Bored Teachers Community is an open platform for anyone who wants to post awesome things about education. It is a place for educators to connect, communicate, relate, laugh, cry, and share stories, materials, experiences or helpful information with each other. Once you’ve registered, you can create and publish articles, photos, videos, quizzes, polls, gifs, lists, and even make your own memes! If people like your posts and they get enough views, they may be featured on the Community Page, or even on the main pages of BoredTeachers.com! If you submit posts that are fake news or include hateful/inappropriate content, you won’t be welcomed into the community and your posts will never be visible. Don’t ruin a good thing!

Bored Teachers reserves the right to delete any post for any reason — read our full user agreement here.

If you are a company, brand, or an individual wishing to promote a product or service by including links or reviews within community posts, your posts won’t ever make it on the site. To learn more about advertising through Bored Teachers, check out this page.

Here are a few other guidelines to keep in mind before signing up:

1. Be cool. Be kind.

You’ve heard the saying: Kindness is cool. So, if you want to be cool and be a part of this community, put your kind cap on and leave your hater hat at the door! If you’re here, it’s probably because you followed the laughter, the fun vibe, or some awesome teaching resources.

2. Just laugh.

Remember that a large portion of the Bored Teachers content is cast in a humorous light to make teachers find laughter in the trials and tribulations of the profession. That’s what comedy is all about! We’re human and we all have the right to express how we feel, laugh about it, and still love our students and our jobs.

3. Don’t hate, appreciate!

We do not tolerate shaming or bashing of ANY kind on Bored Teachers. No one is perfect, we’re all human. All teachers are different, and that’s what makes education so incredible. We all have different approaches, different styles, different ways of managing our classrooms, and different ways of coping, repairing, and preparing outside of the classroom. It’s not a competition, we’re all in this together. Without each other, we’d never make it out alive each school year. So embrace each other’s differences, learn from one another, and appreciate each other, because we can all use the positive reinforcement throughout the year!

Good question! The photos will not show in your draft until you’ve hit the “Save Draft” button at the bottom. Once you save, the page will refresh and show the photos you’ve uploaded in the draft, AND you’ll be able to preview what the post will look like on the site!

If you tried to save and it didn’t save, then you’ll see an “Error” notice at the bottom. It will tell you how many errors there are that you need to fix before the draft can be saved. Scroll back up in the draft and find the fields you left blank highlighted in red. Once they’re completed, hit the save button again, and that should do the trick!

Articles that get good engagement (views & shares) will get considered to be featured on the front page of our website and/or other main category pages. Once featured on one of these pages, the article is most likely be shared to our millions of followers on social media soon after, as well.

Confessions

This page is for educators ONLY — the heroes who spend their days surrounded by children and feel the need to get something off their chest, tell a story, share an emotion, or just flat-out vent in total anonymity. Teachers avoid sharing real experiences or true feelings with each other on social media, in fear that a parent, principal or student might see it! Well here, your identity is never revealed and there’s no way for anyone to criticize you or judge you. Readers can react, keep scrolling, or share their own, no comments allowed. It’s a “troll-free” environment!

The rules are simple…

  1. No racism, no insults, no vulgarity, no trolling, no advertising, no spam, no links, no names, no shaming, no hating. For more detailed rules, see our terms here.
  2. Feel free to share a funny story, an uplifting experience, a tough moment, something that frustrated you, or something that made you smile.

At the top of the Confession page, you’ll find a button “I WANT TO VENT!” Click on that, enter your confession in the box, hit the “I CONFESS” button, and voilà! You’ll be able to see it once we make sure it’s not spam.

No, once a confession is submitted & published, it doesn’t get removed unless it gets flagged as spam. Don’t worry, it’s anonymous anyway!

No worries! We’re just making sure it’s not spam before it goes live. We do our best to review them as quickly as it’s humanly possible. If you post something over the weekend, then we’ll get to it the following week. We’re not robots, and we take the weekends off!
